Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reaffirmed his unshakable loyalty to the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, declaring that no one can create division between them.
Speaking on Tuesday during an event to celebrate Kwankwaso’s 69th birthday, Governor Yusuf dismissed speculations of a rift with his political mentor, describing such rumours as futile attempts by mischief makers.
“Those within and outside trying to create a quarrel between me and our leader, Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, will not succeed. We will continue to uphold the legacy and principles of the Kwankwasiyya movement because Kwankwaso is a God-given leader,” Yusuf stated.
The governor praised Kwankwaso’s visionary leadership and prayed for his long life and continued good health, noting that his guidance remains pivotal to the progress of Kano State.
In recent months, speculation about cracks within the NNPP leadership emerged following reports of a movement tagged “Abba Tsaya da Kafarka” (Abba, Stand on Your Feet), allegedly championed by former government officials seeking greater independence for Yusuf’s administration.
However, the governor’s latest remarks appear to have dispelled those rumours, reaffirming his allegiance to Kwankwaso and commitment to the ideals of the Kwankwasiyya political philosophy that brought the NNPP to power in Kano.
