Governor: We’ll deploy technology to fight insecurity

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang says the state government will deploy technology and other modern apparatuses to tackle insecurity in the state.

The governor made this known at a media parley in Jos, the Plateau State capital, on Friday, May 31, 2024.

Acknowledging that insecurity remains a big challenge faced by his administration in one year in office, Mutfwang thanked the federal government for supporting the state government’s efforts in handling the situation.

He said his government has trained over 600 personnel of the state’s security outfit, Operation Rainbow, to support conventional security outfits in the area of intelligence gathering.

11 declared wanted over Plateau attacks

Governor Mutfwang said: “Insecurity has been one of the major challenges staring us in the face, but we have rejigged our security architecture and I really thank President Bola Tinubu for the support.

“We can say that through our efforts, we now have relative peace, but it is not yet over.

“We have rejigged Operation Rainbow and recruited 600 personnel to add to existing personnel

“We will leverage technology to improve our security system in order to secure lives and property.”

Mutfwang promised continuous support for security agencies in their efforts to tackle insecurity in Plateau State.
