Grader crushes mother, child to death in Ondo

A grader belonging to Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State has crushed a mother and her child to death in the Ute area of the state.

It was gathered that the grader, which was working on a road project in the community, suffered brake failure, leading to the incident.

The Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olushola Ayanlade, confirmed the incident on Monday, May 5, 2025.

Ayanlade said the police had commenced investigations into the incident.

“The incident is true. We have commenced investigation,” Ayanlade said.

The Chairman of Ose Local Government, Mr Clement Ojo, also confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Monday.

Ojo said the council had launched an investigation into the mechanical faults that led to the crash and would take measures to prevent such incidents.
