A non-denominational Christian group, Christian Conscience, has urged Nigerians to eschew politics of hatred and bitterness ahead of the 2027 general election.
The group charged Nigerians to take advantage of the on-going voter registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register and collect their PVC and be ready to cast their votes when the time comes.
It urged Nigerians to collect their PVC, “which is the only instrument of change and vote when the time comes.”
The advice was contained in a statement jointly signed by Dr Yetunde Akinluyi and Dr Kolawole Verrals, Chairman and Secretary of Christian Conscience, respectively, on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

The statement read in part: “We have watched with keen interest public discourse on what should happen in 2027 general elections.
“The present government of Asiwaju Tinubu has just spent two years in office, the coalition is in earnest. started We should allow governance to run for the love of the Nation. After all it’s only God that enthrone Leaders.”
The group noted that the “coalition or desperate office-seeking politicians cannot cause a change of government, rather genuine change can only be carried out by the voting populace.”
