At least two miners were killed and two others injured in an early morning ambush on Sunday in the Rafin Bauna area of Jos South Local Government Area, Plateau State.
The attack occurred around 5:20 a.m. as the victims were heading to a mining site near the Mai Farin Mota area.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared the report on his verified X account on Monday, the miners were suddenly attacked by unidentified gunmen.

Police sources confirmed that the bodies of two victims — Kabiru Mohammed and David Danlami — were found at the scene.
Two others, Bilal Ibrahim and Ayobene Ahile, sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) for treatment.
“A preliminary investigation shows that the victims were ambushed on their way to the mining site by yet-to-be-identified gunmen,” a police source told Makama.
In response, security forces have launched a search and combing operation in the surrounding bush areas in an effort to apprehend the perpetrators.
