Gunmen kidnap 3 police officers in Ogun

No fewer than three policemen have been reportedly abducted by some unknown gunmen in Ogun State.

It was gathered that the police officers were abducted on Thursday at Wasinmi in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The officers, who were said to have visited Ogun State from Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos State, for an investigation, were kidnapped by the gunmen before they left for their place of primary assignment.

A source disclosed that the officers, led by Inspector Oladipo Olayemi, were captured on the road by their abductors, who accosted them at about 2:30 p.m.

Speaking on the incident, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said: “People were kidnapped, but only one policeman is involved.”

Oyeyemi added that the police were on the trail of the kidnappers, saying the victims would be rescued.
