Gunmen kidnap, kill Imo monarch

Gunmen have killed the traditional ruler of Otulu community in Ezinihitte-Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, Eze Achulor, in the state.

It was gathered that the monarch was killed after he was kidnapped by gunmen at his palace in Otulu on Saturday, November 25, 2023.

A village source told journalists that the monarch’s lifeless body was found along Mbutu road in Aboh-Mbaise LGA, a neighbouring community.

“Eze Joe Achulor has been murdered by unidentified gunmen after he was whisked away yesterday morning,” the source said on Sunday.

Confirming the incident, the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, Henry Okoye, said the commissioner of police has delegated a “high power” team with the responsibility to investigate the assassination and arrest those responsible.

Okoye added that the command is open to anybody with useful information that will lead to the swift arrest of the suspects.
