Gunmen kidnap Plateau monarch

Gunmen have abducted the district head of Chip community, Sunday Dajep, in the Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State.

It was gathered that the monarch was kidnapped by the gunmen, who invaded his palace at about 11 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5.

Chip community is inhabited by the Mhiship ethnic group in the state.

Confirming the incident, the Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Alfred Alabo, said security operatives were on the trail of the kidnappers.

“Men of the command have been on the trail of the gunmen. We launched a manhunt for the gunmen as soon as we got the distress call,” the police spokesperson said.
