Gunmen kill FIRS official in Abuja

Gunmen have reportedly killed an official of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Khalid Bichi, in the Maitama area of Abuja.

It was gathered that the FIRS official was shot dead by the gunmen on Friday night.

It was learned that Bichi was shot dead at about 9 p.m. when he was out to get food.

The middle-aged man, who was said to have been shot multiple times, was rushed to Maitama General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Sources told Guardian that Bichi, known for being active on social media with the username @Khalid Bichi, had connections with influential politicians in the country.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has yet to speak on the incident as of press time.
