Gunmen kill LP House of Assembly candidate in Imo

Gunmen have killed the Labour Party (LP) Imo State House of Assembly candidate for Onuimo Local Government Area, Christopher Eleghu.

It was gathered that Eleghu was killed at his residence in Umucheke community, Imo State on Friday.

Confirming the incident, the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mike Abattam, disclosed that the gunmen set Eleghu’s house ablaze after killing him in the early hours of Friday.

Abattam said the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Barde, has ordered an investigation into the incident.

He noted that Barde has also activated all tactical units of the command to arrest the assailants.
