Gunmen kill man in Osun community

Gunmen have killed a man, identified as Kolade Eluyera, in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State.

The Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed the incident on Saturday, May 9, 2026, stating that the deceased was found with gunshot wounds.

Ojelabi said the incident was reported at the Ikire Divisional Police Headquarters on Saturday morning.

Ojelabi said: “From available information, the deceased was killed in the early hours of today.

Troops kill 50 ISWAP fighters, recover weapons in Yobe

“We have commenced an investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the killing.

“We are also working to apprehend those responsible.”

Ojelabi added that the police would ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
