Gunmen have killed a professor at the University of Ibadan (UI), Oyo State, Prof. Opeyemi Ajewole, in the state capital.
It was gathered that Ajewole, a Professor of Social and Environmental Forestry at the university, was killed on Monday night on his way home.
Speaking on the incident on Tuesday, June 6, a lecturer in UI, who declined to be named, said Ajewole was killed while driving home.

“It is true; he was killed last night while returning home. They shot him and took his car away,” he said.
The incident was confirmed by the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso.
Osifeso said: “The matter is under investigation. Updates would be provided accordingly.”
