Hajj: Another Nigerian pilgrim dies in Saudi Arabia

Another Nigerian pilgrim from Plateau State, Ismaila Musa, has died in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

The Executive Secretary of Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Daiyabu Dauda, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

Dauda said the deceased from Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State died after a brief illness on Tuesday.

He noted: “He was ill and had been on admission at Annur Specialist Hospital in Makkah since May 31.

“We wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the government, and the people of Plateau State.

“We pray that Allah will accept his hajj, grant him eternal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”

Nigeria has lost no fewer than five pilgrims in Saudi Arabia this year.

A female pilgrim from Kaduna State, Asma’u Muhammad-Ladan, was confirmed dead at the King Fahad Hospital in Makkah on June 14.

Another pilgrim from Kebbi State, Abubakar Abdullahi, died on Sunday, June 9.

A pilgrim from Kebbi State, Muhammad Suleman, also passed away after a brief illness in Saudi Arabia.

It was gathered that Suleman from Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State died after a brief illness on Sunday, May 26.

A Nigerian pilgrim from Jega Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Tawalikatu Busare Alako, was earlier confirmed dead in Makkah.

The pilgrim was said to have died after a brief illness on Saturday, May 25.
