Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has expressed confidence that the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, will rule Ibadanland with a wealth of experience.
Obi said this during a courtesy visit to Ladoja at his private residence in the Bodija area of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
The Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election said his visit was to congratulate Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Obi added: “My visit is about Nigeria, about selfless leadership, leadership that is committed to turning our society around.

“Ladoja will bring his wealth of experience to bear as Olubadan.”
In his response, Ladoja described his appointment as another opportunity to serve.
He said: “I just see my appointment as Olubadan as another opportunity for service. Many people erroneously believe that the throne is for glamour.
“The time of glamour is gone, in contemporary times, it is about service, what you have on the table for the people in society.”
The former governor will be crowned 44th Olubadan on September 26, 2025.
