Hilda Baci reacts as GWR affirms jollof rice record

Guinness World Records (GWR) has confirmed Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci’s successful attempt at cooking the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.

The GWR announced the confirmation on Monday, September 15, 2025.

Alongside food brand Gino, Baci cooked the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice at Victoria Island, Lagos State, last Friday.

“New record: Largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria,” the GWR wrote on X.

Reacting to the post, Baci wrote: “We have done it again 🙏”

The record-breaking cooking event held at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos attracted a massive crowd of supporters, celebrities, and food enthusiasts who gathered to witness the cooking attempt.
