How partnerships can grow Nigeria’s downstream sector — Ojulari

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has identified strategic partnerships as key to unlocking value, driving sustainability, and boosting commercialization in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector.

Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, represented by the Executive Vice President, Downstream, Mr. Mumuni Dagazau, made this known during the 2025 Inaugural Annual Downstream Petroleum Week organized by the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream).

Ojulari described the nation’s downstream industry as one in transition, filled with opportunities and guided by ongoing reforms.

He emphasized that collaboration among stakeholders is essential to achieving a sustainable energy future for Nigeria and the continent.

He noted that Africa’s energy demand is projected to grow significantly in the coming years, placing Nigeria in a strategic position to lead the continent’s energy transformation.

“To build a sustainable economy for today and the future, we must embrace supply partnerships, infrastructure co-investments, security collaborations, host community cooperation, and operational alliances,” Ojulari said.

“Everyone must play a role in creating a promising and sustainable future for Nigeria.”

He reaffirmed NNPC Ltd.’s commitment to ensuring steady fuel supply, competitive pricing, and quality assurance across its retail network nationwide.

Ojulari also commended the National Assembly and the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) for organizing the forum, pledging NNPC Ltd.’s continued support for stakeholder engagement and collaborative initiatives aimed at advancing the downstream sector’s growth and resilience.
