Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has pledged stronger security collaboration with the Rivers State Government to maintain law and order and protect lives and property across the state.
Disu gave the assurance on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to Governor Siminalayi Fubara at Government House, Port Harcourt.
The visit also marked a return to the state for the police chief, who served as Rivers State Commissioner of Police in 2024.
According to a statement shared by the Nigeria Police Force on X, the meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen the existing partnership between the police and the state government.
Disu reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to working with the state government and relevant stakeholders to promote public safety, peaceful coexistence and stability.
He also stressed the need for cooperation between security agencies and government authorities to address security challenges and improve coordination in maintaining public order.
The engagement forms part of efforts to deepen institutional ties between the Nigeria Police Force and the Rivers State Government.
