Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has paid official visits to Niger and Kebbi States to engage government authorities and security stakeholders following recent security concerns.
In Niger State, the IGP arrived at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna, at about 1:30 p.m., where he was received by AIG Zone 7 Abuja, Victor Olaiya; the Commissioner of Police, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, MNIPS; and heads of other security agencies.
The visit was prompted by the abduction at St. Mary’s Catholic Private Primary and Secondary School in Papiri, Agwara LGA.

After the engagement, he departed at about 2:50 p.m., with security operatives maintaining heightened vigilance throughout his stay.
In Kebbi State, the police chief touched down at Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi, at about 10:57 a.m., before heading to the Presidential Lodge for a security meeting with key stakeholders.
He later paid a courtesy visit to Governor Nasir Idris at Government House, Kauran Gwandu.
Both visits were conducted without incident and were accompanied by intensified patrols and surveillance across strategic areas in the two states.
Security agencies have assured residents that monitoring efforts and proactive measures will be sustained to prevent further violence and strengthen public safety.
