The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the deployment of newly promoted Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Mohammed Usaini Gumel, along with seventeen Commissioners of Police, to strategic departments, commands, and formations across Nigeria.
The move aims to strengthen operational capacity, enhance public safety, and improve service delivery nationwide.
DIG Gumel has been assigned to head the Force Intelligence Department (FID), while other notable deployments include CP Aina Adesola to Delta State Police Command, CP Umar Mohammed Hajedia to Kebbi State Police Command, and CP Iyamah Daniel Edobor to Bayelsa State Police Command.
Additional assignments cover specialized units such as the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Marine Unit, Community Policing, Railway Command, Maritime Command, and the X-Squad, among others.
In a statement, the IGP urged the senior officers to leverage their experience to provide effective leadership, uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct, and ensure strict adherence to the rule of law.
The deployment, according to the Force, reflects the Police leadership’s commitment to strengthening operational efficiency and delivering quality policing services to the public.
