‘I’m proud of you’: Otedola hails Tinubu’s reforms, says Nigeria’s economy gaining investor confidence

The Chairman of First HoldCo Plc, Femi Otedola, has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, saying the policies have placed Nigeria on a path of sustainable growth.

Otedola made the remarks after a private dinner with Tinubu in Paris, the capital of France.

The billionaire businessman, in a post on his social media accounts on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, disclosed that he had a private dinner with the president on Monday evening.

He noted that the impact of the president’s reforms is becoming increasingly visible, with Nigerian companies gaining greater recognition in global markets and key economic indicators showing positive developments.

Otedola added that Nigerian firms have been included in the FTSE Russell Frontier 50 Index, while the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) has reached historic highs.

Otedola also pointed to increased foreign direct investment, improved confidence among investors, a more unified foreign exchange market, and stronger foreign reserves as indicators of economic progress.

He wrote: “At a private dinner in Paris yesterday evening with His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose bold and forward-thinking reforms have put our economy firmly on a path of sustainable growth.

“The results are increasingly evident top Nigerian companies now included on the FTSE Russell Frontier 50 Index, the NGX at historic highs, increased foreign direct investment and renewed economic confidence, a unified and more stable foreign exchange market, foreign reserves standing strong at about $55 billion, and so much more.”

The businessman expressed support for Tinubu’s leadership, saying he remained proud of the president’s efforts to reposition the Nigerian economy.

“I remain proud of you, Mr. President! 🇳🇬,” Otedola added.
