The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has commenced the deportation of some of the foreign nationals recently convicted by the court following their arrest for cyber terrorism and Ponzi scheme offences.

It was gathered that 42 out of the 192 Chinese and Philippine nationals convicted by the Federal High Court in Lagos were deported back to their home countries on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

The deportees are among 759 persons arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) during a major raid at Oyin Jolayemi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos State, on December 10, 2024.
