inDrive to hold safety summit in Abuja October 9

Global mobility and delivery platform, inDrive, will hold the third edition of its Safety Summit on October 9, 2026, in Abuja, with stakeholders expected to discuss safety concerns and operational challenges affecting its platform.

The summit, themed “Building Trust Through Transparency, Dialogue, and Innovation,” will bring together drivers, passengers, couriers, merchants, regulators, security stakeholders and technology experts.

According to the company, discussions will focus on incident reporting, communication, accountability, fairness and measures to improve safety and trust across its mobility and delivery services.

A key session, tagged “Transparency First,” will examine how the platform handles incidents that attract public attention, particularly cases where information emerges before all facts have been established.

The company said its executives would explain its incident management and stakeholder communication processes, as well as safety and operational improvements introduced in response to lessons from previous cases.

The summit will also feature a presentation on inDrive’s safety features, in-app tools, integrations and other measures designed to support users.

Speaking ahead of the event, inDrive Nigeria Country Manager, Timothy Oladimeji, said the summit reflects the company’s willingness to engage stakeholders on issues affecting users and partners.

He said building trust goes beyond introducing safety features, adding that companies must listen to concerns and communicate clearly about how incidents are handled.

“The Safety Summit is an opportunity for us to have the conversations that matter openly and honestly. When incidents occur, people want to understand what happened, how it was handled, and what is being done differently going forward.

“We believe transparency, dialogue, and accountability are essential to building trust, and this summit allows us to bring those conversations into the room with the people who use and support our platform,” Oladimeji said.

inDrive said the summit would also provide an avenue for stakeholders to better understand its safety processes and contribute to efforts to create safer experiences across the platform.
