Senator Sani Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared as Governor-Elect of Kaduna State.
Uba defeated PDP’s Isa Ashiru with 730,002 votes.
The PDP candidate trails with 719,196 votes.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Uba the winner of the election at 9:47p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023.
The Labour Party candidate, Jonathan Asake, got 58,283 votes to place a distant third while the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, came to a distant fourth with 21,405 votes.
The INEC Collation Officer, Prof. Lawal Bilbis, who announced the results stated that the PDP candidate won in 13 LGAs while Uba Sani won 10 LGAs.
Ashiru won in Kaura, Sanga, Kajuru, Jaba, Makarfi, Jema’ah, Zango-Kataf, Soba, Chikun, Kagarko, Kachia, Lere and Kudan LGAs.
On his part, Sani won in Giwa, Ikara, Kauru, Sabon-Gari, Zaria, Kubau, Kaduna South, Kaduna North, Igabi, and Birnin-Gwari LGAs.
