The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, as the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
Oborevwori defeated the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to win the gubernatorial election.
The returning officer of the election, Georgewill Owunari, said the PDP candidate polled 360,234 votes, while Omo-Agege scored 240,229 votes.
Oborevwori, who is the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, is the preferred candidate of the state governor and PDP’s vice-presidential candidate, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.
