In response to the growing concerns on security along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has deployed police officers and security equipment to the highway.
This was made known in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, on Thursday, January 11, 2024.
Adejobi noted that the IGP, while directing the DIG Operations, DIG Ede Ayuba Ekpeji, on strict supervision of the police officers detailed for operations along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway, reiterated that the proactive step aims to reassure citizens and travellers of their safety, “as the increased presence of security forces in the region will act as a deterrent to criminal activities.”

The IGP also assured Nigerians that the strengthened security measures were part of an ongoing commitment to ensuring a secure and peaceful environment.
