Insecurity: Uba Sani recommends Kaduna model to other states

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has urged states facing security challenges to adopt the Kaduna State Model to tackle the problem, saying the non-kinetic approach has started yielding results.

Sani said peace has now returned to Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State which had been facing insecurity for several years, adding that economic activities have started picking up in the area.

The governor gave the advice as the Special Guest of Honour at the gathering of the Association of Zamfara State Indigenes Resident in Kaduna, which took place at the banquet hall of Arewa House in Kaduna on Sunday, January 12, 2025.

Sani who was represented by his Special Adviser on Community Engagement, Mohammed Jalal, said he has been working for peace to return to Kaduna State since he assumed office.

He added that through the efforts of the Peace Dialogue Group established by the Kaduna State Government in collaboration with federal and security agencies, peace has returned to Birnin Gwari.

“The Kaduna Model is freely available for any state that wants to adopt it,” the governor stated.

It would be recalled that Governor Sani reopened the Birnin Gwari Market which had been closed for about 10 years on November 29, 2024, thus signaling the commencement of commercial activities in the area.

Similarly, Kidandan Market in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, which had not been patronised for several years owing to insecurity, has been opened.
