The United States has delivered military supplies to Nigerian security agencies to combat security challenges in the country.
The United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) announced the delivery via a post on X on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
AFRICOM wrote: “U.S. forces delivered critical military supplies to our Nigerian partners in Abuja.
“This delivery supports Nigeria’s ongoing operations and emphasizes our shared security partnership.”
The federal government has yet to release a formal statement on the development as of the time of this report.
The delivery follows a Christmas Day air strike by the US against ISWAP in Sokoto, with United States President Donald Trump warning of further action against terrorists in Nigeria.
Trump had in October 2025, declared Nigeria a “Country of Particular Concern” over allegations of Christian genocide.
The president described Nigeria as a “disgraceful” country and threatened to take military action should the government continue to “allow killing of Christians”.
