Investors gain N26bn at stock market

The Nigerian stock market continued on a positive trend, with investors gaining N26 billion and performance indices rising by 0.04 per cent on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) market capitalisation increased by 0.04 per cent to N66.214 trillion from an opening of N66.188 trillion recorded on Monday.

The All-Share Index also rose by 0.04 per cent, or 41.89 points, to close at 105,593.28, up from 105,551.39 posted on Monday.

The market breadth closed positive, with 25 gainers and 21 losers.

On the gainers’ chart, May Baker Nigeria rose by 10 per cent to close at N8.80, while Mutual Benefits Assurance soared by 9.59 per cent to close at 80 kobo per share.

eTranzact International gained by 9.38 per cent to close at N5.25 and Abbey Mortgage Bank increased by 8.86 per cent to close at N4.30 per share.

Similarly, Consolidated Hallmark Holdings gained by 8.79 per cent to close at N3.59 per share.

Conversely, Eterna led the losers’ chart with a 9.21 per cent decline, closing at N34.50, followed by Royal Exchange, which lost by 7.95 per cent to close at 81 kobo per share.

Stock market investors gain N369bn

Veritas Kapital Assurance also fell by 5.98 per cent to close at N1.10, while WAPIC Insurance dropped by 5.88 per cent to close at N2.24 per share.

Oando dropped by 5.66 per cent to close at N50.00 per share.

A total of 349.33 million shares worth N15.075 billion were exchanged across 12,450 transactions.

This is compared to 440.52 million shares, worth N10.470 billion, that were exchanged across 13,314 transactions on Monday.

Transactions in the shares of Access Corporation topped the activity chart with 36.596 million shares worth N810.888 million.

The United Bank for Africa (UBA) followed with 26.538 million shares, valued at N1.003 billion, while Universal Insurance sold 22.021 million shares worth N12.808 million.

Fidelity Bank traded 20.485 million shares valued at N380.598 million, and Zenith Bank transacted 20.137 million shares worth N970.325 million.
