Ireland announces fully funded master’s scholarship for Nigerians

Nigerians seeking postgraduate education abroad can now apply for the 2026 Ireland Fellows Programme, as the Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria has announced that applications will open on June 29, 2026.

The embassy announced this in a statement shared on its official X account on Thursday, June 25, 2026, describing the fellowship as a fully funded opportunity for early and mid-career professionals from Nigeria and Ghana to undertake a one-year Master’s degree at universities across Ireland.

It said the programme is designed to support professionals committed to contributing to the development of their home countries after completing their studies.

For Nigerian applicants, the embassy noted that the fellowship includes the Roger Casement Fellowship in Human Rights, which is specifically tailored for candidates interested in Master’s programmes in Law, Human Rights and Governance.

The embassy added that successful applicants will have their tuition fees fully covered and will also receive a monthly stipend, accommodation support, health insurance, and funding for visa processing and return airfare.
