The former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Vice Chairman, South-West, Isaac Kekemeke, has won the party’s primary for Ondo South Senatorial District.

Kekemeke polled 35,835 votes to clinch the senatorial ticket of the APC, defeating Akinfolarin Samuel who polled 6,435 votes, and Moratorium Lebi who garnered 1,845 votes.

The former Secretary to the Ondo State Government dedicated his to God for His benevolence before and during the campaigns for the party’s ticket in the 2027 general election.

Kekemeke also expressed gratitude to party leaders and members for their unwavering support.

Addressing party leaders and members after he was declared winner of the primary election at the Ondo South Senatorial District Collation Centre in Okitipupa, Kekemeke said clinching the party’s ticket was a win for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa, and other APC leaders and members in Ondo State.

He called on fellow contestants for the ticket to close ranks and work together for the interest the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“We won together and would work together for the cherished victory at the general election in 2027,” he said.

He reiterated his resolve to give the people of the district efficient and effective representation, saying: “We will live here and live with the people of Ondo South to represent them well.”

He further promised to collaborate with other federal legislators from Ondo State at the National Assembly to provide a legislative framework that would catalyse socio economic growth in the state in support of ongoing efforts of Ayedatiwa’s government.
