Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has suspended the Commissioner for Commerce, Aminu Kanta, over alleged misappropriation of funds approved for Ramadan feeding in the state.
The Jigawa State Executive Council had approved the release of N2.8 billion for the Ramadan Iftar feeding programme across the 27 Local Government Areas of the state.
A total of 600 designated feeding centres were also established with a minimum of two locations in each political ward across the state.
However, the governor suspended the commissioner over the allegation of misappropriation of funds approved for the Ramadan feeding programme in Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
