The Christian Conscience Group, a non-denominational organisation, has urged President Bola Tinubu to take stronger and more decisive action against terrorists and criminal groups wreaking havoc across the country, following the latest mass killings in Jos, Plateau State.
In a statement issued after its monthly meeting and signed by its Chairman, Dr. Yetunde Akinluyi, and National Secretary, Revd. Dr. Kolawole Verrals, the group described the continued attacks in Plateau and other parts of the country as evidence of inadequate coordination within Nigeria’s security and intelligence system.
“The persistent killings in Jos and other parts of the country point to a failure of synergy within the nation’s security and intelligence architecture,” the group said. “These terrorists, regardless of what they are called, are human beings. Yet, intelligence officers are present in all local government areas across the country.”

The organisation called on the Federal Government to identify and dismantle the networks sustaining violent groups. It stressed the need to track their leaders, sponsors, supply chains, and funding sources to ensure ongoing security operations yield lasting results.
The group also expressed alarm over the recent abduction of health workers from a government facility in Akure, Ondo State, describing the attack as unacceptable. Although the victims were later released in the bush, the organisation said the incident underscored the urgent need for a firmer government response.
“Enough is enough,” the group declared, urging authorities to adopt more proactive and intelligence-driven approaches.
In its goodwill message to Christians nationwide, the Christian Conscience Group felicitated believers on the Easter celebration and encouraged them to continue praying for peace and unity in the country. It urged Christians to uphold the teachings of Jesus Christ by showing love and compassion, especially in the period following the Lenten season.
The statement was released by the National Publicity Director, Tunji Oguntuase.
