Kaduna ADC expels deputy chairman, eight others over misconduct

The Kaduna State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expelled its Deputy Chairman, Ahmed Tijani Mustapha, and eight other members over alleged gross misconduct.

The decision was reached during the party’s executive meeting held in Kaduna, where the leadership accused the affected members of engaging in activities detrimental to the image and unity of the party.

According to the ADC, the expelled members—including the State Publicity Secretary, Idris Musa—were found guilty of offences such as insubordination, holding secret meetings aimed at undermining the party’s leadership, falsifying documents, and extorting party members.

Others affected by the expulsion include the State Vice Chairman (Zone 1), Sulaiman Abdullahi; State Treasurer, Gambo Sani; State Financial Secretary, Magaji Maiwada; State Legal Adviser, Danlami Dabai Musa; State Coordinator of Persons with Disabilities (PWD), Saura Muhammed; Deputy Youth Leader, Ibrahim Muhammed; and Mansur Gaga.

Speaking at a press conference after the meeting, the State Chairman of ADC, Elder Patrick Ambut, reaffirmed the party’s commitment to peace, discipline, and adherence to due process as enshrined in its constitution.

He described the conduct of the deputy chairman as an abuse of office and impersonation, stressing that such actions were capable of causing disunity within the party in Kaduna State and the North-West region.

“As law-abiding members of the ADC, we remain committed to upholding our party’s constitution and protecting the integrity of its structure,” Ambut stated.

He added that the deputy chairman’s actions amounted to a gross violation of the ADC constitution, emphasizing that he had no authority to convene meetings or issue directives on behalf of the party.
