The Kaduna State chapter of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) has issued a stern warning to one Imrana Wakili, threatening legal action over what it describes as false and unfounded allegations against Governor Uba Sani.
In a statement signed on Wednesday by ALGON’s spokesperson, Alhaji Muhammad Lawal Shehu, the association demanded an immediate retraction and public apology from Wakili, who had alleged via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, @iu_wakili, that the governor approved ₦4.6 billion for the purchase of vehicles for local government chairmen.
ALGON strongly denied the claim, labeling it a fabrication intended to mislead the public.
“Governor Uba Sani has consistently championed fiscal discipline and cost-cutting measures since taking office,” the statement read.
“The document referenced in the post is fake and meant to discredit the governor’s administration as it marks two years in office.”

The association condemned the spread of what it called deliberate misinformation and warned that if Wakili fails to retract his statement and issue a public apology within seven days, legal proceedings would be initiated.
ALGON also cautioned others against spreading false information, describing such actions as harmful to public peace and democratic governance.
