The Kaduna State Fire Service has said one person died in 20 fire outbreaks recorded in the state in August.
The Director of the Kaduna State Fire Service, Paul Aboi, made the disclosure while Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna on Tuesday.
Aboi said one person also sustained injuries while another was rescued unhurt.
He disclosed that the fire outbreaks were recorded in Kaduna, Zaria, and Kafanchan.

“Properties worth N171,000 were saved from destruction within the period while properties worth N30,000 were destroyed,” he added.
Aboi noted that there was a reduction in fire outbreaks in the state, saying public enlightenment and heavy rains in August contributed to the reduction.
He said 70 per cent of fire incidents in the state resulted from carelessness on the part of residents, adding that most of the incidents were caused by electrical faults.
Aboi, however, urged the state government to ensure that all local government areas were equipped with fire fighting facilities just as he appealed to residents to ensure they have fire extinguishers in their homes.
