Kaduna moves to bridge housing deficit

Governor Uba Sani says Kaduna State is making steady progress in tackling its housing deficit through strategic partnerships and social housing projects.

Speaking at the commissioning of 100 free houses for widows under the Family Homes Funds Limited (FHFL) Social Housing Project in Rigachikun, Igabi LGA, the governor said the initiative aligns with his administration’s goal of providing affordable housing for citizens.

He praised President Bola Tinubu’s Ward Development Plan, which targets empowering 1,500 people in each of Nigeria’s 8,809 wards, describing it as “unprecedented.”

Sani highlighted several ongoing projects, including the Qatar Sannabil Housing Scheme for victims of banditry and new residential layouts in Ungwar Dosa and Millennium City. He added that agencies like the Nigerian Air Force, Customs Service, and Federal Housing Authority have also launched mass housing projects in the state due to its investor-friendly environment.

FHFL Chairman, Ademola Adebise, said the project combines home ownership with skills training and renewable energy solutions, empowering widows to become self-reliant.

Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu, commended President Tinubu for sustaining inherited projects and praised Governor Sani’s commitment to improving lives in Kaduna.
