The Kaduna Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has lauded Governor Uba Sani for appointing its members to strategic positions in the state cabinet, describing the move as a vote of confidence in the legal community.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Barrister Baba Lawal Aliyu, the NBA commended the governor for what it termed “trust and confidence” in members of the legal profession, particularly those within the Kaduna Branch.
The association congratulated Barrister James Kanyip (PhD) on his appointment as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, describing him as a “committed and highly respected member” known for his intellectual depth, integrity, and principled leadership.
“We are confident Dr. Kanyip will bring vision, innovation, and integrity to the Ministry of Justice.
“The NBA looks forward to a continued productive partnership under his leadership,” the statement read.
The NBA also praised the redeployment of Barrister Sule Shuaibu (SAN) as the new Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, acknowledging his impactful tenure as the former Attorney General.
“During his two-year tenure, Barr. Shuaibu implemented transformative reforms that boosted institutional efficiency, expanded access to justice, and enhanced the Ministry’s profile,” the NBA noted.
The association expressed deep appreciation for his contributions and wished him success in his new role.
