Kaduna: PDP loses Ashiru’s ward chairman in Kudan

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kudan Local Government Area of Kaduna State has suffered a political setback following the resignation of Hon. Sanusi Magaji Kudan, ward chairman of Alhaji Isa Ashiru, the party’s 2023 governorship candidate.

In a statement on Sunday, Chairman of Kudan LGA, Hon. Dauda Ilya Abba, commended Magaji Kudan — popularly known as Mai Kwando — for what he described as “abandoning a sinking ship heading for political collapse.”

Abba hailed the resignation as “a bold step in the right direction” and urged the former ward chairman to align with the All Progressives Congress (APC), which he claimed has been positively impacting the lives of constituents.

He cautioned the African Democratic Congress (ADC) against celebrating the development, insisting that “this is not your catch. His true home is the APC, where he has always belonged.”

The LGA chairman extended an open invitation to Magaji Kudan to return to the APC, describing it as “the party of progress and hope” with a place already waiting for him.

Abba further asserted that the ongoing wave of defections into the APC across Kaduna State was a sign that Governor Uba Sani’s re-election in 2027 was inevitable, citing the governor’s rural transformation projects, human capital development initiatives, and completion of inherited projects across all 23 LGAs.
