Kaduna pledges improved pilgrims’ welfare ahead of 2026 Hajj

The Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Malam Salihu S. Abubakar, has reaffirmed Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to ensuring a safe, comfortable, and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience for intending pilgrims.

Abubakar made the statement during the flag-off of the Public Enlightenment Programme, popularly called BITA, at the Kinkinau Qur’anic Recitation Centre.

The programme aims to prepare pilgrims for a smooth 2026 Hajj operation.

Represented at the event by the Administrative Secretary, Malam Baba Rufa’i, the Chairman described BITA as a key pillar of the Agency’s Hajj preparations.

He said the initiative is designed to educate, guide, and inform pilgrims about all aspects of the sacred journey.

A statement by the Agency’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Datti Makarfi, said the Chairman urged pilgrims to actively participate in the programme, ask questions, and strictly follow all guidelines.

The statement also acknowledged the contributions of Islamic scholars, facilitators, media partners, and other stakeholders toward ensuring a hitch-free Hajj.

The BITA programme focused on Hajj rites and obligations, health and safety measures, Saudi laws and regulations, as well as discipline, patience, cooperation, and unity among pilgrims.

The Chairman commended Governor Sani for the ongoing reconstruction of the Kaduna State Hajj Transit Camp at Mando, describing it as a major milestone in enhancing pilgrims’ welfare.

He assured that the project would be completed ahead of the 2026 Hajj season, with modern facilities, improved accommodation, sanitation, medical, and welfare services.

Malam Salihu also praised the Governor’s visionary leadership and people-centered approach, which he said underscores the administration’s commitment to the welfare of pilgrims.
