Kaduna triumphs at maiden AGILE games, secures 8 awards

Kaduna State emerged the overall winner at the inaugural edition of the AGILE Games, clinching a total of eight laurels and outshining participants from other states across Nigeria.

In a statement released Monday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Malam Ibraheem Musa, Kaduna’s outstanding performance was attributed to Governor Uba Sani’s dedication to delivering quality education in the state.

The competition featured students from Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Plateau, Ekiti, and Borno states.

According to Hajiya Maryam Dangaji, Kaduna State Project Coordinator for AGILE, the state secured first place in five categories and finished as runner-up in three others, topping the overall rankings.

She described the achievement as “a testament to Governor Uba Sani’s diligence and unwavering support for education.”

Hajiya Dangaji praised the dedication of students, teachers, and schools, noting their relentless efforts in preparing for the competition.

“From those who won at the state level to those who triumphed nationally, every student who participated is a champion,” she said.

Kaduna excelled in three team events—Female Basketball, Debate, and Spelling Bee—and also took first place in individual contests such as Poetry Out Loud and Painting.

The state claimed runner-up positions in Digital Literacy, Essay Writing, Environment, and Entrepreneurship.
