Governor Uba Sani’s economic development for Kaduna State agenda rests on skills development, economic empowerment of the youth and proficiency in Information and Communication Technology.

The Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, reiterated this on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 during the commissioning of the Maltina Skills Acquisition Centre, which was built by Nigerian Breweries Plc. in Makera as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.

Dr Balarabe further said that Kaduna State Government is constructing three skills hubs in the three senatorial zones respectively, to train and certify youths in various trades.

‘’What Nigerian Breweries has accomplished here resonates deeply with the vision and priorities of Senator Uba Sani’s administration. As you may be aware, a cornerstone of our government’s agenda is comprehensive skills development and youth empowerment,” she said.

According to the Deputy Governor, the skills centre represents “the birth of new opportunities, dreams, and pathways to economic independence for countless young people across our state.”

“By equipping our youths with these practical, market-ready skills, this center will play a crucial role in transforming job seekers into job creators, fostering self-reliance, and significantly reducing unemployment in our state,” she stated.

Dr Balarabe further emphasized that the impact of the center will extend beyond its immediate environment, as beneficiaries would gain economic independence, contribute to local economic growth, strengthen their communities, and inspire others to follow similar paths of self-development.

She also said that under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, ‘’we are dedicated to strengthening the investment climate in Kaduna State, implementing policies that make it conducive for businesses to operate, grow, and contribute to our shared prosperity.’’

Speaking at the event, Mr. Hans Essaadi, Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, explained that the Entrepreneurship Development Centre will train youths and women from the host community in tailoring, shoemaking, hairdressing, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
He added that startup and mentoring support will be offered to make beneficiaries self-reliant.
