Workers, banks, telecommunication outlets, and polytechnic in Kaduna State have joined the two-day warning strike declared by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC).

The Judiciary Staff Union (JUSUN) and other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in Kaduna also joined the two-day warning strike.

All the ministries were closed on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, with no sign of any worker on duty.

However, marketers and commercial transporters engaged in their businesses uninterrupted.

Academic institutions in the state, especially the Kaduna Polytechnic, were also shut down, while students were seen in mass returning to their homes.

Speaking, Shedrack Musa, an HND 1 student of Computer Science at Kaduna Polytechnic, said: “If I knew Kaduna Polytechnic would join the strike, I wouldn’t have wasted my transportation money to school.”

However, at Kaduna State University (KASU) many students were seen within the premises but without lectures.

Speaking on the development, the KASU spokesperson, Adamu Bargo, said: “We are working.”
