Kannywood actress Fati Karishima has shared a distressing account of her alleged marriage to a senior official in President Bola Tinubu’s administration, claiming she was abandoned despite being provided with luxury accommodation and financial support.
Speaking in an interview as reported by Dokin Ƙarfe TV, Karishima said her involvement in the 2023 presidential campaign led her to meet the man, whom she described as a senior government official, and that the relationship eventually resulted in marriage.
According to her, the man rented and furnished a house for her and provided regular financial support, but never lived with her or allowed her to visit him. She said their communication was largely limited to video calls throughout the period.
Karishima further alleged that a few months into the arrangement, she developed a serious and unexplained health condition that caused continuous bleeding for about five months, during which doctors were unable to identify the cause. She also claimed she suffered repeated episodes of unconsciousness.
She said that while she was battling her health challenges, the man gradually withdrew from her life, stopped communication, and cut off financial support.
The actress claimed she was left in severe financial and emotional distress, with many acquaintances distancing themselves from her during the period.
Karishima added that when she later requested a divorce, the man allegedly denied ever marrying her and insisted he did not know her.
“In the end, I lost everything I had. When I asked him to divorce me, he said he had never married me, so how could he divorce someone he had never married? He even claimed he did not know me at all,” she said.
The claims have sparked attention online, though the identity of the alleged official has not been independently verified.
