Kano APC crisis: Ganduje steps in, Jibrin ready for parley

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has directed the state leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to immediately take measures for the resolution of the internal differences arising from aspirants seeking to contest election into the Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.

Ganduje gave the directive via a statement issued by the Kano APC Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, on Sunday.

Abbas, in the statement, however noted that an invitation has been sent to all the aspiring aspirants for the position.

The Kano APC Chairman stated that the state leadership of the party has complied and summoned a stakeholders meeting to discuss the situation in the constituency.

He added that Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin has already accepted the proposal and readiness to attend the meeting.

Abbas, in the statement, called on the parties to remain calm and cooperate with the party with a view to resolving the internal crisis and further assured that the meeting would come up with a position acceptable to all the aspirants.

It would be recalled that Jibrin, the Director-General of the Tinubu Support Group, who was was reportedly denied the House of Reps ticket, on Saturday, dumped the APC.

Jibrin, who once represented Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano State in the House of Reps, announced his decision via his social media accounts.

The former federal lawmaker stated that he has done his best for APC and it was time to move on.

He noted that he would announce his new political party in the next 24 hours.
