Kano State Commissioner for Transportation, Alhaji Ibrahim Namadi, has officially withdrawn as a surety in the ongoing case of Federal Republic of Nigeria vs. Sulaiman Aminu (Charge No. FHC/KN/CR/93/2025) before the Federal High Court sitting in Kano.
In a formal letter submitted to the Deputy Registrar of the court, Alhaji Namadi cited personal reasons for his decision, stressing the importance of protecting his personal integrity and the dignity of his office as a public servant.
He explained that his initial decision to stand as surety for the defendant was made voluntarily and within the bounds of the law, driven by longstanding family ties and humanitarian concerns. However, he emphasized that this action should not be interpreted as a show of support for drug-related activities or an endorsement of the alleged offence.
Alhaji Namadi reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, the State Executive Council, and the people of Kano. He pledged continued support for government-led efforts to combat drug abuse and promote safer, healthier communities.
He concluded by expressing his willingness to offer further clarification if needed, while maintaining his commitment to upholding the values of public service and accountability.
