A Kano Magistrate Court has granted bail to a lawyer, Hamisu Dandago, who is standing trial over alleged forgery and dissemination of false information.
Dandago was arraigned before the court after the prosecution accused him of preparing a document in the name of a company and presenting it during court proceedings in an alleged attempt to withdraw a case.
The prosecution alleged that the document was forged and used in connection with the proceedings.
Dandago denied the allegations against him.
His counsel, Danjuma Hussaini, applied for his bail, while the prosecution counsel, A’isha Bashir Minjibir, did not oppose the application.
Ruling on the application, Magistrate Haulatu Magaji Kankarofi granted Dandago bail and ordered his sureties to forfeit N500,000 each if he failed to appear in court as required.
The court adjourned the case for further proceedings.
