Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has pledged to provide food items and other essential commodities to 1,500 couples who benefited from the state government’s mass wedding programme.
Yusuf said the intervention was designed to ease the financial pressure the newlyweds may face during the early stages of their marriages.
He congratulated the couples on beginning a new chapter in their lives and urged them to build their marriages on the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The governor advised the couples to demonstrate patience, justice, fairness and mutual respect while resolving differences and maintaining peace and understanding in their homes.
He also prayed for Allah’s blessings on their marriages and for them to be blessed with righteous children who would contribute positively to their families and society.
The governor’s latest intervention comes as part of efforts by the Kano State Government to support beneficiaries of its mass wedding programme beyond the wedding ceremony.
