The Kano State Government has suspended several health officials and representatives of partner organizations for failing to report for duty during the ongoing measles and rubella vaccination campaign in Kabo Local Government Area.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board, Sa’adatu Suleiman.
According to the statement, those affected include the Head of the Health Department in Kabo, the Officer in Charge of Immunization, representatives of partner agencies, and other health workers directly involved in the vaccination exercise.
The ministry explained that the suspension was part of efforts to enforce discipline, promote accountability, and safeguard the integrity of the vaccination campaign, which targets the prevention and control of measles and rubella among children across the state.
To ensure the smooth continuation of the exercise, the Commissioner for Health has approved the immediate appointment of replacement officers to oversee the campaign in the affected area.
The state government reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality healthcare services and ensuring that public health initiatives are implemented effectively and transparently.
