A pilgrim from Jega Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Tawalkatu Busare Alako, has died in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Alako’s death was announced by the Kebbi Pilgrims Welfare Board on Sunday, May 26, 2024.
The board, in a statement issued by its chairman, Faruku Aliyu-Enabo, disclosed that the pilgrim died after a brief illness on Saturday, May 25.

Aliyu-Enabo noted that the deceased’s funeral prayer and burial took place at the Al-Masjid Al-Haram (Ka’aba) according to Islamic rites on Saturday.
The board chairman, on behalf of the Kebbi State Government, condoled with Alako’s family, Kebbi pilgrims, and the people of the state.
