MultiChoice Nigeria has appointed Kemi Omotosho as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
MultiChoice announced this in a statement issued on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, noting that Omotosho will take over from John Ugbe, who is retiring after nearly 15 years as the company’s CEO.
The company said Ugbe is stepping down after a long tenure during which he led the business through major industry and market shifts, strengthening its operational foundations and long-term resilience.
MultiChoice said Omotosho, who has a strong track record in leading complex organisations, driving disciplined growth and building high-performing teams, will oversee the company’s strategy, operations and stakeholder engagement, building on the foundation laid by her predecessor.
Speaking on her appointment, Omotosho said it was a privilege to be entrusted with the leadership of MultiChoice Nigeria at such a pivotal time.
She said: “Nigeria remains one of the Group’s most strategic and dynamic markets.
“I look forward to working with our teams and partners to deepen our relationship with consumers, champion local storytelling and the creative economy as well build a future-ready organisation that delivers sustainable value.”
Multichoice added that Omotosho brings over 20 years of leadership experience across media, telecommunications, and digital businesses in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa.
She has also held several senior roles within the MultiChoice Group, including executive head of customer value management in Nigeria and group executive head of customer value management for rest of Africa, providing functional leadership across more than 50 markets.
